What we see. What we never read. Why it matters.
Most parental monitoring software is spyware in a friendly coat. Gamekeeper was built differently — to protect kids without violating them. Here's exactly what that looks like.
What we DO see
- Messages from strangers (anyone outside your kid's approved friends)
- Flagged keywords/patterns matching our threat library
- Voice-chat transcripts during flagged moments (audio discarded)
- Purchase requests across linked platforms
- Session metadata: which games, how long, when
What we DON'T see
- Innocent chat between your kid and approved friends
- Game content, builds, screenshots, or gameplay
- Web browsing outside the gaming apps
- Social media accounts you haven't explicitly linked
- Voice-chat audio (transcribed and discarded on-device)
Three lines we will never cross.
We don't sell data. Period.
Your family's data is not part of our revenue model. We charge a subscription so we don't have to. No ad networks. No data brokers. No 'anonymized aggregates' sold to third parties.
Encryption end-to-end, audit-ready storage
All data in transit is TLS 1.3. At rest, AES-256. Decryption keys are scoped per-family. Quarterly third-party security audits. SOC 2 Type II since 2025.
COPPA-compliant by design
We comply with COPPA, GDPR, CCPA, and equivalent regimes globally. Kids under 13: data scope minimized further. We never use kid data to train our models without explicit, separate parent consent.
A note we share with every kid whose parent signs up.
Hey —
Your parent just set up Gamekeeper on your gaming accounts. Here's what that means, straight up:
We're not reading your chats with your friends. If someone's already on your friends list, we mostly ignore that whole conversation. The stuff you're saying in your Discord server with your buddies? Not our business.
What we ARE watching for: strangers being weird with you. Stuff like adults asking your age, asking for photos, telling you not to tell your parents, asking to move to Snap or Discord. That's when we'll tell your parent. Not because you did something wrong — because someone else did.
You can read what we flagged. Open the Gamekeeper kid app. Anytime we send your parent something, you can see exactly what we sent and why.
We're trying to help. We hope this feels like that.
